Topic:Catalysis and Recognition of Metal Complexes
Speaker:LiJune-Ming, Ph.D.Department of Chemistry,University of South Florida
Introduction:
Metal centers can catalyze a variety of mimetic reactions, including hydrolysis and oxidation, and recognize a variety of molecules, such as hazardous compounds and drugs. Among them, the Lewis acidity of metal centers plays a key role, which can be modulated by ligands. In this presentation, we will discuss the activities of some typical metal-containing systems. A better understanding of the structure, efficacy and mechanism of these systems can facilitate further exploration of new and diverse metal molecules and other metal-containing systems in metal-mediated catalysis and specific recognition.
